occupation di sana sini

di samping menghabiskan masa berbelas2 jam di dlm lab terchenta (yang belum tentu dpt hasil yg memberangsangkan..hehe)...
saya turut menyibukkan diri ke aktiviti2 lain
yeah..sy rasa thn ke-2 ni byk sungguh perkara2 yg berlaku
terutamanye tentang Gaza...
isu yg makin hangat
walopn ramai org kate...'bukan dh behenti serang ke?''
huhu....mn ade penah behenti..sila baca berita ya...

dan protes2 di sini masih berterusan....
everyday vigil kt depan BBC tu masih diteruskan (komited sungguh mereka ini, dah hampir 2 minggu lebih sy tak dpt join sbb bertapa di lab)
walo hujan, snow, dh gelap, mereka masih tegar meneruskan vigil tersebut...

dan protest merebak ke Universiti2 di sekitar UK plak
hampir 30 university mengadakan 'occupation' di university mereka sebagai tanda solidary dgn Gaza dan agar pihak university memenuhi tuntutan mereka
King's college di London telah berjaya memastikan pihak uni memenuhi tuntutan mereka selepas 12 hari 'berkampung'
Stracthclyde uni berjaya hanya selepas 22 jam menjalani 'occupation'
dan Uni of Manchester????

huhu...kami masih belum btol2 berjaya walopn selepas hampir 31 hari menjalankan occupation
degil sungguh VC ini (dan sebenarnye beliau penah membuat onar di uni beliau berkhidmat sblm ini....even student2 dr uni kt sana turut menyokong tindakan kami..keskeskes)
bermulanye 'occupation' di UoM...

4 Feb 2009: Action Palestine UoM menganjurkan emergency general meeting (EGM) bertujuan meluluskan usul2 tentnag isu Gaza..syarat utk EGM ini diteruskan adalah perlu cukup korum 500 students....malangnya usaha kuat dan murni mereka telah disabotaj oleh student2 pro-z****** yg menguasai kebanykan jwatan2 penting Student Union....memang rasa sedih masa itu...jadi, kami bersepakat untuk berjumpa terus dgn VC dan di sinilah occupation bermula (teruja melihat semangat2 student2 non-muslim yang beria2 mengetuai occupation ni...)

seminggu lepas itu....Action Palestine sekali lagi memanggil EGM ke-2...puas hati sungguh melihat lebih 1000 students menghadiri EGM ini..(saya cpt2 habiskan keje lab dan trus pegi ke meeting ni....rugi woo kalo tak pegi...mana bleh bg student2 pro-z****** ini menang skali lagi)...

semasa meeting ni, byk je helah diorg...nak ammend usul ni lah..nak ammend usul ni lah....berikut adalah motion yg action palestine letak untuk diusulkan ke pihak Uni utk tindakan lanjut:

THIS UNION RESOLVES
1. To support a day of fundraising for humanitarian relief for Gaza, with all proceeds to be given to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
2. To pressure the university to send surplus academic supplies to the students of Gaza on the February 14th Viva Palestina convoy, and to organise through the Union to provide logistical support for the collection of this aid.
3. To join the global Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement by divesting from Israel and boycotting all companies that support or benefit from the Israeli occupation and lobbying the University to adopt a similar BDS policy towards Israel, and to build links with student unions and other trade unions who adopt a BDS policy.
4. To condemn the university for its lack of progress in divesting from arms companies and ending all research in weapons manufacturing. And to adopt a stronger approach with the university on this issue.
5. To send a letter to the BBC condemning their refusal to air the DEC appeal for Gaza, and to place the appeal advert in Student Direct, and on the home page of the UMSU website, until the appeal is closed.
6. To send a message of support to occupations around the country that have shown solidarity with the people of Gaza, condemned the Israeli attacks and opposed the siege of Gaza. To materially support non-violent occupations undertaken by university of Manchester students.
7. To send a public message of solidarity to the Islamic University in Gaza, whose campus has been virtually destroyed, and publish it in Student Direct.
8. To pressure the university to give full scholarships to Palestinian students as resolved at the March 2007 general meeting, as well as providing full scholarships for Israelis who have refused to serve in the IDF. As part of this the Union will furthermore forge concrete links with Israeli students, activist groups and military conscientious objectors that oppose the Israeli occupation and its recent attacks on Gaza. And to adopt a stronger approach with the university on this issue.
9. To declare unequivocal support for the occupation so far as it keeps the current demands, remains non-violent and maintains its intention not to disrupt the education of peers. To support and aid the occupation in its negotiations with the university. To support all students and staff so far as they face any repercussions.

antara ammendment yg pihak bertentangan minta adalah to mention yang hamas adalah terrorist...huh..itu je lah modal diorg..xde benda lain...bila diundi lebih 2/3 tak sokong any ammendment dibuat/ditambah....(alhmdulillah, ini kemenangan pertama)..kalo ikutkan bermacam2 ammendment yg diorg nk buat sampai pengerusi EGM kata 'we are going to stay here until tomorrow if this continues'...kui3...jadi undian dibuat sekali lagi untuk teruskan ke motion atau ke cadangan2 ammendment (mmg byk je ammendment yg pihak lagi satu nk buat tentang usul2 di atas..huh)...spt tadi, 2/3 sokong teruskan ke usul...alhmdulillah!

masih tidak berpuas hati, mereka2 ini buat usul baru yg sy rasa agak 'weng'.usul mereka: tukar pengerusi. ya Allah..apakah mereka ini..memang merepek...skali lagi undian dibuat..2/3 tak setuju usul utk replace the chair...(tau2 aje lah kan sape kah yg 1/3 itu)...

masih tidak berpuas hati, mereka dgn biadapnye keluar beramai2 dari dewan dan mendakwa tak cukup korum utk diteruskan EGM...

ape2pn itu sudah tidak dikira sbb EGM dah lama start..manakan plak tak cukup korum..isk..isk...bijakkah?

dengan ini diisytiharkan usul Action Palestine di atas telah diluluskan...alhamdulillah..memang rasa sgt lega slps kekalahan kami pada minggu lps....dengan lulusnya usul2 ini, bermakna akan dibawa ke pihak admin uni utk tindakan lanjut...tapi perjuangan masih belum selesai....

malangnye...beberapa minggu lps tu, masih tidak ada apa2 dilakukan oleh pihak uni..VC masih enggan berunding..mcm2 syarat dikenakan...beliau jg menggugut pelajar yg menyertai occupation akan dikenakan tindakan...

occupation diteruskan di salah satu bangunan berdekatan dgn admin building...sempena hari ke-29 occupation, national student demo-in solidarity with occupation in UoM telah diadakan (yeah..kali ni pn saya cpt2 habiskan keje lab utk pergi)......

berita terbaru: VC dah bersetuju nak negotiate dgn occupiers Isnin ini......we'll see how it goes...adakah beliau akan memberikan byk alasan spt yg sblm2 ini...

dan occupation ini turut mendapat sokongan dari beberapa persatuan NGO, academic staff (mereka ini yg kdg2 bagi bekalan makanan kepada occupiers) dan juga restoran2 berdekatan...serta mendapat liputan media massa.....
